At Akonadi Foundation, we believe that access to quality education is a human right; that young people deserve compassion, respect, and dignity. Oakland’s working class communities of color are hit hardest by school closures, deep budget cuts, and increased class size. We stand in solidarity with Oakland’s teachers, students, and families as they take to the streets to demand investment in our youth. This fight for the future of public education is a fight for racial justice in Oakland.
