June 23 @ 10:00 am - 7:00 pm

This event brings together people of all ages, faith practices, ethnicities and cultural backgrounds from the Greater Bay Area to celebrate the end of slavery in the United States. This year we will unpack and celebrate the impact of the record-breaking Black Panther Movie and it’s empowering message of hope and resiliency. We have invited Director Ryan Coogler as well as his parents and will give them special awards recognizing them as cultural brokers not just for Oakland’s Black residents but for Black people around the globe.
