The goal of the Strategic Opportunities Support (SOS) Fund is to encourage innovation in racial justice movement building through cross learning, alliance building, and strategic initiatives. The SOS fund will provide small one-time grants to timely efforts as they emerge on a local, regional and national level.
We are pleased to announce our 2011 funding priorities for the SOS Fund. In 2011 we have $250,000 available for grants in the SOS fund. SOS grants ranges from $10,000 to $25,000. Project specific grants will be made to grant partners that have active grants in the Race and Place (RAP) Fund and Building a Movement (BAM) Fund portfolios.
Funding priorities:
* Strategy meetings/convenings led by current RAP Fund and BAM Fund grantees
* Timely and strategic state-level work led by current BAM or RAP grantees
* Capacity Building initiatives for national (BAM) fund organizations
If you are a current grantee and your organization would like to submit an application to the SOS Fund please contact your program officer for more information.
